Our Story

A shop built one honest sale at a time.

KCS Outfitters started in a garage in 2014. It's still run by the same family that started it, on the same principle: treat folks the way you'd want your daddy treated when he walks into a hardware store.

Kevin Savoie

Meet Kevin.

Kevin Michael Savoie grew up in Carencro, the third of four brothers, none of whom could sit still on a Saturday. He worked the oilfield for fourteen years before a 2013 layoff sent him back to the thing he'd always loved more anyway — fixing reels in the garage.

Eleven years later, the garage became a shop, the shop became a small business, and the small business is still — somehow — exactly what Kevin wanted it to be: a place where you walk in a stranger and leave knowing more than you came in with.

He lives a mile from the shop with his wife Andrea, daughter Maya, and a brown lab named Roux who has unrestricted access to the showroom.

The long version

From garage to Lebesque Road.

2014

2022

Move to Lebesque

Today

Still family-run

Kevin's still at the counter most days. Wife Andrea runs the books. Daughter Maya runs social.
What we believe

Four rules of the house.

Honesty over upsell

If you don't need it, we'll tell you. We've turned away more sales than we've made — and somehow we're still here.

Service that lasts

Buy a reel from us, bring it back in three years for a free re-spool. That's not a promo, that's the deal.

Local first

Our suppliers are people we know by name. We stock Louisiana brands wherever they can hold their own.

Teach, don't sell

Half our floor time is just explaining how things work. Kids included. Especially kids.
